Kangaroo for dinner

I ate the kangaroo and it was delicious!  It's very lean and needs to be cooked medium rare, just the way I like beef so it was perfect.  In fact, other than that it's darker in colour, I couldn't really taste a difference.

We had two hosts in Adelaide, our Rotary friends from 3 years ago and another couple, Rotarian friends of our friends.
The six of us went out for a fabulous dinner in a restaurant that overlooks the water.  The distant high-rises caught the evening sun and sparkled against the dimming sky.  As the sky darkened, the fountain was lit and together with the fairy lights in the trees around us it was a magical evening.  It was all too beautiful for words.  By the time we had finished dessert and coffee, the hot 39 degree day had cooled to a balmy evening and the restaurant threw open the glass doors that faced the water.  Suddenly, there was no wall anymore and the soft breezes enticed us onto the balcony for some late-night conversation.  It was heavenly.

The desserts, which of course have nothing to do with our clothes getting tigher.  That's the humidity, right?

And I probably don’t need to mention that our clothes are getting tighter.  I’m sure it’s the humidity.
At the beginning of our trip to Australia, we were all so keen to see kangaroos and went to extreme lengths to satisfy ourselves.  Now they’re everywhere.
In Mount Gambier Hans had to chase 4 of them off the tee box when he golfed.  They didn’t hurt his game though ‘cause he got 38 on the front 9 but then the rains washed through and he had to take refuge in the bar, don’t you know.  Forty minutes and 2 beers later he played the back 9.  Oddly, didn’t do as well.

  1. So playing golf isn't like playing pool with Dad? LOL. He always got better after a few rum 'n' cokes...
