We stopped for a lunch of fish and chips at a charming café on this beach. That’s a very appropriate lunch to eat by the sea.
The view was exceedingly splendid. The beach is broad, clean, sunny and with manageable-sized waves rolling in from an almost painfully blue and bright sea. The air was filled with salt tang and shrieks of pleasure from people having fun. I would have loved to join them in the waves but none of us had thought to bring our “bathers”.
But then, we saw a helicopter flying low over the water parallel to the beach.
“Shark patrol,” said Rodger. So maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea that we forgot our swimsuits.
